Walkway grating for the NYC Ivy school

Description
Columbia University Facilities Department undertook a project to replace the areaway grating along the college walk. The prior grating consisted of a light duty steel welded type grating with expanded metal mesh welded to the top surface. Ohio Gratings’ Wheels n’ Heels® Metro product was specified for the replacement.
Our Wheels n’ Heels® Metro grating provides an aesthetically pleasing look and comes standard with an Slip Resistant surface treatment which meets ADA requirements. The particular bar spacing was chosen as it is ADA compliant and high-heel friendly. Additionally, the grating is designed to withstand AASHTO H20 loading.
