Material: Wheels n’ Heels® InVent® 64-7-WHSS-63 1/8″ Stainless Steel Grating with ALGrip slip resistant surface to meet ADA Guidelines and to be High Heel Friendly

Two of the main features included in Phase 2 of this unique elevated park on the west side of Manhattan are the Flyover and the 30th St Cutout. For the elements the Design Team wanted a heavy duty stainless steel grating that was also ADA Compliant and high heel friendly. In addition, they wanted the grating to have a 68% open area and have a “See Through” look, so that park visitors can view the plants and other features through the grating. The Designers also wanted the grating to be strong enough to support the wheel loads of the maintenance vehicles which will need to travel over the gratings. To meet these needs, Ohio Gratings made some slight modifications to our Wheels n’ Heels- InVent® Stainless Steel grating by using 1/8″ x ½″ deep top surface bars instead of the standard 1/8″ x 1″ deep bars. The standard ALGrip surface on the top surface provides excellent slip resistance in both wet and dry conditions.
